PAYCHECK
PROTECTION:
HB 1413
I believe you should have the RIGHT to choose where your hard earned money goes and what it's used for.

This bill protects your pay check by requiring authorization for certain labor unions to use dues and fees to make political contributions, which you may or may not agree with, and requires consent for withholding earnings from your paychecks.

I voted for HB 1413, not to prevent an individual from voluntarily participating in a union.  I voted for HB 1413 because I feel that a person should have the RIGHT to choose how their hard earned money is being used, and what causes and individuals are being supported.
What Did This Mean For You?
This gave you the ability to choose where your union dues are being spent and if you want to participate in the causes and individuals being supported by your union with  your hard earned money.

Sadly, this bill was strongly opposed by Democrats.
The REAL Issue:
Why would my opponent, who says, "he wants to represent the people of Missouri and work  to bring opportunity and prosperity to every Missourian", be opposed to giving YOU the RIGHT to choose where YOUR hard earned money is being spent?
CONCLUSION:
My opponent is definitely NOT for YOU!  He is a Liberal Democrat and supports Liberal Progressive Policies.
PREVAILING WAGE:
HB 1729
Repeals provisions relating to prevailing wages on public works and allows rural local contractors to be able to compete on local projects without competing with urban wages.  This allows more rural contractors to compete with Big Urban Contractors on rural projects, thus stimulating good paying local rural jobs and opportunity.

I promised to help bring growth and prosperity to ALL Missourians when I was elected, so I voted to pass this bill.
What Did This Mean For You?
This helps reduce taxes by making rural projects more cost effective by allowing greater competition in the bidding and construction process.

Sadly, this bill was strongly opposed by Liberal Democrats.
The REAL Issue:
Why would my opponent, who says, "he wants to represent the people of Missouri and work  to bring opportunity and prosperity to every Missourian", be opposed to free market principles that increase competition, expand opportunities for local workers, and reduce the cost of government, so we can continue to lower your tax burden?
CONCLUSION:
My opponent is definitely NOT for YOU!  He is a Liberal Democrat and supports Liberal Progressive Policies.
INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX:
HB 2540
(SCS HCS HB 2540)
I believe the size of government needs to be reduced, so that the amount of money you pay in taxes can be reduced.

I voted for SCS HCS HB 2540 which allows Missouri families to keep more of their paychecks. The bill provided Missourians with the largest single year income tax cut in the state’s history. The bill reduces the existing individual income tax rate from 5.9 percent to 5.5 percent. Additional triggers based upon revenue growth in the state will eventually lower the individual income tax rate to 5.1 percent, putting Missouri among the top states for lowest state income taxes.
What Did This Mean For You?
It means you're able to keep more of your hard earned money to use to support yourself and your family.

Sadly, this bill was strongly opposed by Liberal Democrats.
The REAL Issue:
Why would my opponent, who says, "he wants to represent the people of Missouri and work  to bring opportunity and prosperity to every Missourian", be opposed to lowering your tax burden and allowing you to keep more of your hard earned money?
CONCLUSION:
My opponent is definitely NOT for YOU!  He is a Liberal Democrat and supports Liberal Progressive Policies.
My opponent's Liberal Policies would expand the size of government and require higher taxes, which would prevent tax cuts for YOU, taking more money from YOU and YOUR family.
CORPORATE TAX CUT:
SB 884
I understand economics and I promised to work to bring growth and prosperity back to Missouri.

The Government doesn't make money, it spends it.  The Government generates income from tax revenues.  The Government generates the greatest revenue during times of economic growth and prosperity.

I voted to pass SB 884 to cut the Corporate Tax Rate to spur economic growth, allow corporations to keep more of the money they earn, just like I did for the personal income tax cut, so everyone can invest in their future.

IT'S WORKING!  The economy is growing at a record pace.  Unemployment is at its lowest level in over 17 years, and good paying jobs and greater opportunities are returning to our state for ALL Missourians, Union and Non-Union workers, and Tax Revenue for the State is also up.
What Did This Mean For You?
What it means for you and ALL Missourians is more good paying jobs (both Union and Non-Union) and greater opportunities for advancement.

The better the economy does, the better it is for ALL Missourians.
The REAL Issue:
Why would my opponent, who says, "he wants to represent the people of Missouri and work  to bring opportunity and prosperity to every Missourian", be opposed to lowering the tax burden for job creators and encouraging them to invest in you?
CONCLUSION:
My opponent is definitely NOT for YOU!  He is a Liberal Democrat and supports Liberal Progressive Policies.
My opponent's Liberal Policies would expand the size of government, increase red tape and government regulations, restrict business and economic growth, and force job creators out of state.  This would reduce the number of good paying jobs (both Union and Non-Union) and stall our economy.
STATE MERIT SYSTEM:
SB 1007
I believe in Traditional Missouri Values: do a good job in all your work and get paid a fair wage for doing it.

I believe this is the value and standard most Missourians are held to in their jobs and work, and I believe it is a fair value and standard to expect from the State Employees who serve you.

Most State Employees do an exceptional job.  However, a significant expense for your state government was terminating poor-performing employees.  I voted to pass SB 1007 to hold State Employees to the same Missouri value and standard, as is required for most Missourians in their jobs.  This bill also gives us the ability to provide pay increases to State Employees based on performance instead of the standardized testing that dictated pay increases before.
What Did This Mean For You?
It means greater accountability in our State Government, and State Employees are held to the same employment standards as you.

Sadly, this bill was strongly opposed by Democrats because they opposed this level of accountability.
The REAL Issue:
Why would my opponent, who says, "he wants to represent ALL the people of Missouri", be opposed to leveling the playing field and putting State Employees on the same Performance Based System YOU successfully work in everyday?
CONCLUSION:
My opponent is definitely NOT for YOU!  He is a Liberal Democrat and supports Liberal Progressive Policies.
My opponent's Liberal Policies would create a special class which would not be held to the same standard as you and I.
>>> WARNING <<<
DEMOCRATS
ARE NOT WORKING FOR YOU!
I know you get up and do your job every day.
I am committed to doing mine: to help give you greater opportunities to make a better life for yourself and your loved ones...and that's what I've been doing.

My Opponent wants to reverse the significant progress we've made for you.  He wants to bring back job crushing legislation, increase taxes, and limit your freedom to choose what's best for you and your family.

WE CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN!
